Our High School Youth participate in at least one mission trip each summer.

In June of 2007, Sr. High Youth traveled together with the youth group from

First Presbyterian Church, Clarks Summit, to the Kensington/Fishtown neighborhood

of Philadelphia through YouthWorks!, an international mission trip agency.

While being housed at Summerfield-Siloam United Methodist Church, the youth

experienced a variety of mission areas, including visiting a senior center,

helping stock a massive food bank, passing out food at a street corner food drop, paiting a

Girls Club gymnasium, building a wheelchair ramp at a transitional housing unit, and more.

Each day ended with a time of worhsip and relfection and on the last night of the trip,

the church and youth hosted a neighborhood cookout and block party.

In 2006, they travelled to Moss Point, Mississippi to help the Rush family rebuild after the hurricanes.

In July 2007, our youth travelled to New Orleans. Please see the pictures below of past events.

In addition, our parishioners, young and old, participate in the following ministries throughout the year; newcomers are always welcome:

  • Altar Guild ~ this dedicated group of individuals prepares the Church for Sunday and Wednesday services, and special services of weddings, funerals and baptisms; they also decorate for Christmas and Easter seasons, make palm crosses for Palm Sunday, and deliver the weekly and holiday flowers to our parishioners

  • Ugly Quilt Group ~ 'sewing' quilts to keep the homeless warm in winter, this group meets the 1st & 2nd Tuesday of each month, from April through December, in our Parish Hall; the one or two quilts completed each month are taken to St. Joseph's kitchen for distribution

  • Food Pantry Sunday ~ we collect non-perishable food items the 1st Sunday of each month to benefit the Dalton Food Pantry; items are placed in the basket in the Narthex of our Church

  • Appalachia Service Project ~ several fundraisers including hoagie & chocolate sales and a brunch/auction enable this group of 30+ teens and 10+ adults to travel to Mingo County, West Virginia in July 2007 to make homes there warmer, safer & drier for their occupants

  • Pygmy Ministry ~ we support an Episcopal ministry in Uganda which includes the Epiphany School, the McMahon Medical Clinic, vehicle donation and sponsoring of individual children; at Christmas time, parishionners can 'purchase' items needed by the pygmies from a Christmas Wish List

  • Christian Outreach ~ supports 'a balanced portfolio of regional, national and global projects that help meet people's physical and spiritual needs, thereby empowering them to serve Christ in the world.'

  • AGAPE ~ 'The purpose of the AGAPE fund is to assist those of our parish, yet not restricted to only those of our parish, who may find themselves in need of financial assistance.'

  • Heifer International ~ during Lent, arks and calendars are available to families; the arks are filled with coins and returned on Easter Sunday; the monies collected benefit Heifer, which works 'with communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the earth.'

  • Altar Flower Ministry ~ on Sundays (except during Lent) the Altar flowers are sponsored by  parishioners to honor or remember their loved ones; these flowers are then delivered to those members in the Parish celebrating birthdays or anniversaries and to our homebound members

  • Christian Children's Fund ~ our weekly Sunday School offering supports a Honduran girl, Luz, through CCF

  • Christmas Tree Gifts ~ during Advent, toys listed on 'ornaments' are purchased and donated to the United Neighbourhood Centers of Lackawanna County, Inc. for distribution to needy children

  • Christmas Bags ~ our parishioners bake homemade cookies which are packaged along with devotional books for delivery to our homebound members before Christmas

  • Pastoral Care ~ especially for our homebound folk, pastoral care includes but is not limited to: receiving Holy Communion, home/hospital visits and phone calls from Fr. Graham Cliff; cards from the 'Weekday Saints;' Altar Flowers and Christmas bag deliveries.  Our Sunday service of Holy Eucharist is also recorded on tape and copied for any member who cannot attend in person.

  • Memorial Gardens ~ overseen by our Building & Grounds Committee, the upkeep of the All Saints' and Woodland Memorial Gardens is also done by parish volunteers, during spring and fall clean-ups and whenever the mood strikes them
